Drawn to the written word since her childhood in Germany, Païvi was already sidelining as a copywriter while studying for her degree in communications. Soon after, she joined Publicis and later Leo Burnett, where she worked on big budget clients like L’Oréal and Renault. Through it all, Päivi showed a natural flair for film – able to filter out the unnecessary to tell a flowing and compelling story for the screen. And after a few further copywriting stints in Frankfurt and London, in 2017 Païvi embarked on an MA in screenwriting at the London Film School. Since, she’s been selected for the Canneseries writer’s residency, and gained a diploma in TV writing from the Université Côte D'Azur. Now, with a second string to her bow, Païvi pairs her screenwriting work with her career as a freelance copywriter.
Asked what she likes to do in her spare time, Päivi explains that she ‘hates hobbies’ and mainly ‘chases builders to realise my interior design ideas.’ Fair enough.
