Having secured a place on the hyper-competitive advertising course at Finland’s Turku Arts Academy, Juha was quickly snapped up by Lowe & Partners Helsinki, where he penned copy for the likes of Peugeot, Unilever, and Omo (Persil). In the meantime, he found a side-hustle as a freelance transcreator, adapting the advertising of clients that include Dove, Heineken and Dyson. Five years and a stint at a smaller brand consultancy later, Juha sought a fresh challenge, enrolling in a screenwriting Masters which would see him living in the UK for the first time.
A productive move, it turned out: Juha found his calling as a freelance writer, and started a relationship with the Brit he would go on to marry. The pair are based in the UK today, but Juha tells us ‘I still love Finland dearly and make several trips a year to visit friends and family’.
Meanwhile, he continues to write for the screen and the page, penning short stories (mainly horror), with a novel in the works.
